Entry Process

• You may submit entries in several categories. No more than one image by any given participant will be chosen as a finalist in any given category. A participant may however be a finalist in several categories.
• You may submit a given image in several categories as long as you follow the category guidelines.
• You may submit up to three (3) entries in the Captured Human Experience, Staged Human Experience, Built & Natural Environments, and Constructed Reality categories and one entry in each of the Student categories.
• One entry equals one image in the Captured Human Experience, Staged Human Experience, Built & Natural Environments, and Constructed Reality categories and a series of 5 to 8 images in the Student categories.
• Images must have been created after January 2012 and can not have won major awards.
• Images can be color or black & white and may be made with any type of camera or photographic process (e.g., pinhole, smartphone, photogram, SLR, DSLR)
• All images must be submitted as digital files as per the specifications on the website.
• Please make sure you have uploaded all your images for submission before submitting payment. Payment closes the registration process and you are not able to go back and submit additional images after that.
• Submission fees are per entry. One image is one entry in the Captured Human Experience, Staged Human Experience, Built & Natural Environments, and Constructed Reality categories and a series of 5-8 images in the Student categories.
• Early-bird rate (before February 15th, 2017): €20 in the Captured Human Experience, Staged Human Experience, Built & Natural Environments, and Constructed Reality categories , € 15 in the Student categories.
• Regular rate (by April 15th 2017): € 25 in the Captured Human Experience, Staged Human Experience, Built & Natural Environments, and Constructed Reality categories, € 20 in the Student categories.

February 15, 2017 (11:59 pm Central European Time, GMT+1): Early-bird submission deadline
April 15, 2017 (11:59 pm Central European Time, GMT+1): Final submission deadline
May 15, 2017 Category finalists announced
June 15, 2017 Finalists’ prints due
November 2017 Exhibition and awards ceremony in Paris, winners announced

 

Eligibility

To be eligible for this competition you must meet the following criteria:
• Be 18 years of age at the date of submission
• Submit original work
• Declare that you do not have any conflicts of interest (e.g.,. you are not an employee or immediate family member of the competition organizers)
• Professional photographers are not eligible to participate
For the purposes of the competition, we define a professional photographer as someone who earns more than 75% of their income through photography or has
had a solo exhibition in a major museum. Group shows in major museums, solo shows in smaller museums and galleries, museum acquisitions and museum donations are acceptable.
• Employees of Paris College of Art at the time of submission are not eligible to participate.
